This chest is a dark chestnut-it will match/mix well with dark cherry or mohogany. It came delivered in pristine condition from the factory(Powell)-great packaging and protection from the shipping process. Even though my bedroom furniture is a medium wood color, the style still fits (country french).
It also offers a deep storage area for blankets, sheets, and pillows.
I need to mention that it is a lot heavier than the last two lane chests I've owned!
I expect to pass this gorgeaous chest on to my loved ones, it's so well made.
